“Conspiring to Violate the Lacey Act,” Environmental Law (2002)
CHRISTINE MOORE grew up with a large extended family in a small town in Montana. Christine learned the value of hard work from her father, who worked nights making dairy products and returned to college in his 30’s, while supporting his family. Her mother taught her the importance of treating people with fairness and respect. Christine knew from a young age that she wanted to practice law for the purpose of helping others. Christine’s focus in the areas of civil rights, labor, and employment law fulfills that goal. She is a skilled advocate that ensures her clients receive the full protection of the law.
Labor Law
Collective bargaining, union organizing and elections, public sector labor disputes, grievance arbitrations, interest arbitrations, representation before the Oregon Employee Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board, and class action lawsuits on behalf of employees and pension recipients.
Employment Law
Wrongful Termination, Discrimination (Race, Gender, Age, Disability, or Sexual Orientation), Racial or Sexual Harassment, Family and Medical Leave, Retaliation for Union Activity and Free Speech, Government Employment, Individual and Class-Action Wage Claims.
Professional License Disputes
Professional License Denial or Discipline.
Labor Law
Christine successfully represented the Klamath Community College Faculty Association in its petition to the Employment Relations Board seeking certification as a bargaining unit at Klamath Community College. The Association requested a bargaining unit composed of all faculty at .2 FTE and above. The College opposed inclusion of all part-time faculty. After Christine represented the Association at hearing and in extensive written argument, the Board issued an order in favor of the Association.
Wage and Hour Law
After an employer terminated an employee, the employer failed to pay the employee all of his earned wages. Christine successfully obtained the employee’s earnings and penalty wages.
Employment Law
Christine often represents former employees seeking unemployment benefits. A mill laid off several AWPPW members but the employment department denied them unemployment benefits. After telephone hearings and written argument, Christine got the decisions reversed and the members received benefits.
Professional License Disputes
Christine frequently represents employees before professional licensing boards, such as the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, the Department of Human Services, and the Board of Nursing.
Complex Litigation
Christine is a primary member of the firm’s Sizemore litigation team.
